When Should I Consider Uterine Surgery?

uterine surgery

Although you can live without your uterus if necessary, this organ needs to be as healthy as possible if you want to have children. If you suspect that there could be a health issue related to your uterus or other parts of your reproductive system, you should consult with a gynecologist who can perform the necessary exams to determine exactly what’s wrong and the best method of treatment. Here at West Coast Women’s Reproductive Center, we are proud to offer uterine surgery to our patients and

If your gynecologist sees any abnormal cells near your cervix or your uterus, he or she may recommend uterine surgery for the problem. This procedure can address uterine fibroids and endometrial polyps. Adenomyosis is also a viable condition for uterine surgery; this is when the glands inside the uterus grow down into the uterine muscle.

At our office we perform hysteroscopies to determine a number of uterine concerns. This is a procedure entailing the insertion of a thin lighted tube into the uterus for observational purposes. Laparoscopy, also known as laparotomy, is another procedure used to remove the fibroids/leiomyomas, thereby increase your chance of conception and restoring your fertility.

We invite you to learn more about your uterine health and the reasons why you might need uterine surgery by speaking with a gynecologist. For more information, please feel free to reach out and make an appointment with West Coast Women’s Reproductive Center! At our convenient location in Sherman Oaks, CA, our dedicated team of experienced staff will be ready to explain your options in full and answer any questions you may have. Contact us today to set up your consultation – we look forward to speaking with you!
